Christie is madly in love with fitness and all things exercise. She lives and breathes fitness – a little running, yoga, plyometrics, and everything in between! Two years ago she took a leap of faith and against strong encouragement from her family to become a banker, she followed her passion and started her own business: Preston Fitness.

Christie has never looked back! Preston Fitness runs boot camps and does personal training all over the city of Toronto. With her degree in Kinesiology, Christie is able to deliver scientifically-based workouts to her clients on a daily basis. Christie also writes a daily Blog, Beauty and the Bod about all things beauty and health related. Christie’s goal is to inspire and empower healthy and happy lives.

When you use exercise as a counter for poor nutritional choices -- like my pint of ice cream a day habit during the marathon summer - it is almost impossible to do successfully. It is super simple to consume 100 empty calories, working them off however is a completely different story.

Gen Y Isn't Unhappy - We're Lucky!

Last week, "Why Generation Y Yuppies are Unhappy," an article written on the Huffington Post went viral. ERRRR it made me angry. Here's a quick summary: "When the reality of someone's life is better than they had expected, they're happy. When reality turns out to be worse than expectations, they're unhappy." If you believe in this then you are settling for less in life.

Being Happy With the Skin You're In

I have a lot of clients who try to tell me that their bodies are just meant to be fat naturally. I then tell them I'm sorry but I do not agree! The bottom line is this: nobody was born to be uncomfortable in their own skin. It took me a long time to make health my goal, not weight loss. And ever since I've started to make that shift I've never been happier with my body.
