Parliamentary Secretary to Canada's Citizenship and Immigration Minister, Member of Parliament for Richmond Hill
Costas is currently a member of the House of Commons Standing Committee for Citizenship and Immigration (CIMM). He has also served on the Standing Committees for Procedure and House Affairs (PROC), Official Languages (LANG) and Government Affairs and Estimates (OGGO).
A businessman and entrepreneur by background, Mr. Menegakis founded a successful marketing company in 1988 providing logistics services to national and international corporations.
Mr. Menegakis firmly believes in building strong communities and has led by example, serving in various volunteer capacities for several non-profit organizations over the past 20 years. He is an ardent supporter of programs that offer services to families particularly to our youth and elderly. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Accessible Channel, a national media organization providing video and audio service to the hearing impaired and the blind, the Metropolitan Toronto Police Chief’s Community Advisory Council, the Empire Club of Canada and various Canadian Hellenic organizations among others.
Mr. Menegakis has been awarded Her Majesty’s Queen Elizabeth II Gold and Diamond Jubilee medals awarded to Canadians for their outstanding community service and volunteerism.
An active member of the community Costas is an avid photographer, enjoys music and sports, is a long-time supporter of youth amateur sports, including as a ten-year manager of his son’s hockey team.
Costas Menegakis was born in Montreal, is married to Gail and has two children. He is a graduate of Concordia University’s Faculty of Commerce and speaks three languages (English, French and Greek).
