October is Women's History Month -- a chance to highlight the past and present contributions of women. We recognize their achievements as a vital part of our Canadian heritage. It gives us the chance to reflect on how we've benefited from women activists in the fight for women's equality. Most importantly, it gives us a sense of pride in our historic origins, while providing role models for Canadian women everywhere.
Journalist, Blogger at World Vision Canada
A desire to learn about people and tell their stories lead Erin Farrar to a two-year journalism program at Conestoga College. Now, it’s brought her to World Vision Canada, where Erin has just begun her second internship.
Before working for an NGO, I defined job satisfaction like this: using your skills in the best way possible in a well-paid environment. Having interned at World Vision for the past six months, my priorities have changed. Doing work that makes it possible for someone on the other side of the world to live a happy, healthy life is far more meaningful than a high salary could ever be.
