Clown, blogger

I’ve been a producer for nearly 25 years, I’ve been playing Fredolini the clown for about twenty years, and I have managed the National Clown Circus since 1997.

An acrobatic clown with an adventurous soul, I’ve played stages in France, Martinique, Italy, China, Morocco and Canada, where I presented my three great and critically-acclaimed clown shows—Anthologie, Taddah! and the innovative iFredolini—before more than 500,000 people to date.

Born into a family of clowns and deeply attached to the clowning tradition, I successfully appeared as if by magic on a Canadian postage stamp, of which more than 4 million copies were produced in October 1998. I am pictured next to my father, the famous clown Patapouf (Giovanni Iuliani). It was a first in Canadian postal history. I am also the first living person to appear on a postage stamp.

Hey Guy! I'll Buy Your Cirque Du Soleil...

I almost choked on my toast this morning when I read that you were actually thinking of selling the Cirque du Soleil, which could end up in the hands of foreign interests. Move the headquarters of the company that brings so much to our home-grown circus community somewhere other than the Cité des Arts du Cirque? Unthinkable! I just couldn't bear to see the Cirque du Soleil set anywhere else. So I'm setting my sights high and reaching for the stars!
