Greg Mountenay

As a recent university graduate, Greg’s post-secondary resume includes a Bachelor of Arts in French from Trent University and a Bachelor of Education from Queen’s University. He grew up in the little town of Almonte, Ontario just outside of Ottawa. He has been an avid curler and a lover of camping and hiking since childhood.

Before entering into the world of teaching, Greg spent summer 2012 travelling across the country with the help of Canadian Tire and a goal of visiting hundreds of his Facebook friends on The Great Canadian Road Trip 2.0 – bridging the gap between online and face-to-face friendships.

Discovering Canada and Rediscovering Friends on a Cross-Country Road Trip

The goals my great Canadian road trip were simple: visit as many of my Facebook friends as physically possible and discover Canada. Driving across Canada has always been something I wanted to do. Growing up in a small town and being a recent graduate, this dream was so far out of the realm of possibility that it almost was not worth thinking about. Then I got a call from Canadian Tire to say they wanted to help make my dream a reality. It was like winning the lottery.
