Joel Garten has had a varied career in a number of fields. He is a composer and improviser, working in a modern style on the piano that has been described as a meeting of Keith Jarrett and Morton Feldman. He is a visual artist in a style influenced by Abstract Expressionism. He has worked as an entrepreneur and in a number of capacities in the real estate field. He is a thinker, writer and world traveler, having traveled to more than 40 countries.
