People forgot how to have fun. My mission is to make this Nation healthier One Fit City at a time. Done smart, and over time, we can turn this nation into aspiring athletes(or at least healthier arm chair quarterbacks). Take Health One Day at a Time

Take it day by day. That's the best lesson in success I ever got. Where do you want to be at the end of your life, get a dream, get a vision, then take it day by day. This is the best way to go with...

Look at Fitness From a New Angle

We want to get to a certain number, physical look, or something along those lines. Vanity is a great motivator, and can't be over looked. But what about getting back to a state in life where we are like puppies and babies. Seeing things for the first time?

Stop Weight Loss Competitions in the Workplace

What I need people to do is change their corporate culture, and the conversation they have with friends. You don't need to lose weight, you need to become fit. Starvation and exercise to the point of becoming unhealthy will drop weight fast. Increasing your heart rate, eating smart and local, and ensuring you breath deep through your day will take your body back to health.

The Professional Fighter Workout

Let's talk how to get the weight off and how to get the body you want. This is not usually the way my articles go as I want people to search for health. However, sometimes its fun to talk about hard w...

Getting Messy in the Mud Is Good for You, so Jump in

I can not begin to describe my excitement for the onslaught of people who are putting together things like Tough Mudders, Mud Runs, and anything else that has people outside, running and performing obstacles. This is what we were designed to do. Have fun, be outside, and get messy.

Think of Your Body as a Machine

Our bodies are designed to move in order to keep us alive and cover our basic needs for survival. Food, shelter, clothing, and warmth. All of those things used to require you to move, and be active. So imagine why it's so difficult to burn enough calories in 30 minutes three times a week in order to stay healthy.

Incorporate Wellness into Your 9 to 5 Life

This is what I encounter on a regular basis: I go in to a workplace to spread health and fitness, and get to meet people that are putting their life on hold Monday to Friday. I meet people that are extremely bitter. The reason is that they know they aren't doing the important things. They feel trapped.

Fitness Is as Simple as Putting on Your Shoes and Heading Outside

Go run, walk, bike, or hike. It doesn't matter, just don't spend your life in front of a TV. You miss the most amazing thing, and that's your body doing what it's designed to do. Move and make memories. If you are parents with kids, encourage them to move and stay young. It's when we stop moving that we age fast, lose creativity and the confidence that we are in control of our destiny.

The Four Pillars of Good Health You Should Follow

Trust me when I say you should follow this list. Being healthy and going out and enjoying life is for more fun, then dieting and training just to look good. No one really cares about your six pack. Never once have I been asked to tell a story about my abs. I have been asked about my trip to Thailand with Contiki tours a million times.

Stress Kills. That's Why Real Men Do Yoga

Men, I want to encourage you to do Yoga. I'm still not into a lot of it. You'll probably never see or hear me talk about the deep spiritual side. But I take my deep breaths, I reflect inward, I calm myself after a long day. I do the things that reduce stress. I also find that I take the breathing and reflection time along with me on my running and into the weight room.

The Program That Helps Kids Get Fit

In the case of our youth, we need to go back to school and re-teach movement to those who are lagging behind. Many kids struggle in math, science, or with reading. Those kids have tutors, so why is motor development any different?

If You Struggle With Your Weight, Try These Simple Things

Clean out your cupboards. Simple sugars, and salty high fat snacks will be what you grab if you get hungry. Your body knows what it wants to survive, and it gives you a powerful craving to grab it. If it's not there, you will grab the next best thing. That next best thing from a survival standpoint is usually vegetables, yogurt, and the healthy choices.

Why I Tried Joga

I tried something new. It's called Joga. Jana Webb came up with an athletic style of yoga to get people moving. If you caught her on CBC with "Steven and Chris" you'd have seen her use Joga to improve your sex life. More motivation to get fit.
