If the only image you have of Africa is that of a continent continually in a state of crisis, then you are severely mistaken. It is time Westerners stop characterizing Africa as a bottomless pit of despair, and a continent ridden in abject poverty. We can no longer afford to distort its reality with misconceived assumptions.
Krista received her MA with Merit in Social Anthropology of Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, England, and her BA Magna Cum Laude in Honors in International Development and Globalization from the University of Ottawa. Krista's educational background is complemented by various international internships: Youth Challenge International (Tanzania); Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (Nepal); and Citizenship and Immigration Canada (Pakistan). With a passion for travelling, living and working abroad, Krista's interests include children and youth empowerment, education, health, and conflict resolution. When she is not in the CACHA office, she is wishing she was in the field challenging and immersing herself deep into the wonders of different cultures contexts!
