A health advocate, Michael resides in Toronto and is married to Katharine, a costume designer.They have two daughters and two grandchildren.
Michael is a past president and fundraising chair of the Ontario Spondylitis Association, has been a member of the organizing committee of the Arthritis and Autoimmunity Research Centre Foundation’s Day at the Races, as well as a fundraiser for the Salvation Army and Casey House in Toronto.
Michael’s volunteer activities started in the early 1990s after he was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. Michael’s motivation to volunteer came from the ten years it took for his AS to be diagnosed. “I just didn’t want anyone else to have to struggle that long for a diagnosis if I could help raise awareness.”
In 2011, Michael retired from a 35 year banking career with the last years spent in private wealth management. He lives in Toronto and is married to Katharine, a costume designer. They have two daughters and two grandchildren.
