Some moms on the playground just don't know when to leave well enough alone. Rude, crude and socially unacceptable. Don't get caught saying the wrong thing in the schoolyard this year by adhering to these Things Not to Say to Another Mom.

It's hard enough to find foods your kids will eat, but if they have a food allergy (or someone at school does), it can seriously limit your culinary options -- not to mention, it makes grocery shopping a challenge. To ease your allergy pain, we've rounded up our 15 Food Allergy Savers.

With back to school comes the inevitable onslaught of our offspring's artistic endeavours (gulp). Their creativity is irrefutable but managing the volume is at odds with our resolution to control the clutter, and we're not up for the tears induced by one-too-many garbaflage attempts last year. Here to save our sanity -- and valuable storage space -- is easy app Artkive.

Many people think that when summer rolls around, everything slows down, but not for me! Cougars in Muskoka, cottage gifts and summer memories. Even when I'm away on vacay, like I am this week, there is still so much that catches my attention. (Not to mention a few celebrity sightings!)

I'll begin with some final words on the Olympics. I'm sorry they are over. I miss them already. I loved watching the athleticism and courage of the amazing athletes from all over the world. I loved judging their behaviour (to cry or not to cry) when I was in no position to do so and I loved reading the commentary from other media channels.

Sure, we would rather our kids ran around outside in the fresh air all day long, but a little downtime never hurt anyone. Whether you're on a train, plane or automobile, or you just need a little screen-saver time, let your little people learn a little while they play on the iPhone, iPad or iPod with one of these 10 Apps for Smart Kids.

I like to savour the last few weeks of summer. It's one of my favourite times of year -- especially the food! That's top on my roundup this week, along with some bad reality TV shows, thought on the Olympics and getting ready for back to school!

Even with the Olympics on 24/7 (admittedly a huge distraction for me) there was a lot that caught my attention this week. Let's talk about the Olympic uniforms, Twitter and freedom of speech, and ways that you can eat like an athlete!

There's always some wacky new fad that I discover while looking for my weekly round up. This week:Toe-besity! (It's what it sounds like) Also, a pregnant Yahoo! CEO, a hilarious birth plan, a delicious summer smoothie and great outdoor games for the kids. There is so much to talk about this week!

Turn back the clock this summer to an easier, laid back, simpler time in life, where kids got away from the screens and played with bugs, folded paper into boats and let their imaginations run wild. Here are some ways to get those kids away from their iPads!
