As a single woman living in an increasingly pricey city, buying used is a great way to get like-new items at a fraction of the cost. However, the used economy still presents an element of risk. I've definitely encountered my share of creepy situations in the past. (Case and point: the strange man I interacted with on Craigslist who seemed more interested in "getting to know me" than purchasing my old couch.) No sale is worth compromising your personal safety. Here's a few safety tips to follow when buying and selling online.

As of 2014, for the first time in more than 130 years, adults ages 18 to 34 are more likely to be living in their parents' home than with a spouse or partner in their own household. Taking time to slow down and treat myself to new stories, perspectives and ideas, feels incredible. As someone with a naturally anxious mind, reading is my go-to reset button. Whenever things get foggy in my brain, I can always focus on someone else's words for a few minutes. Re-set. Repeat.

To honour how far I've come, a few months ago I decided to treat myself to a collection of (now classic) home decor books that I've been lusting after since my Rubbermaid bin days. But, as true in both love and books, not everything (or everyone) lives up to your expectations.

As a sex and relationship writer, people joke that my bedroom is my office. But now it's literally true. I've read that you should never sleep in the same room as where you work. But, as many of us embrace small space living and unconventional adult living arrangements, the bedroom/office has become the new normal.

According to a new study, when it comes to your romantic desirability, your choice in vehicle doesn't matter -- at least not in the way that you'd think. As it turns out, breaking the bank on an exotic car won't increase your chances of being lucky in love, as the majority of Canadians (51 per cent) find mainstream brands, such as Ford and Toyota, most attractive for a potential mate to drive -- even over luxury and exotic cars.

A few months ago, the internet lit up in a frenzy when UFC fighter Ronda Rousey attempted to give sex advice by suggesting, "You should never need lube in your life. If you need lube, then you're being lazy." Her comment is completely misguided and misinformed.

One thing I've learned in my seven plus years of writing about sex and relationships, is that the word "sexpert" gets thrown around a lot. I've even had the word featured under my byline (I thought everyone knew it's the blind leading the blind, here?) However, when it comes to Sexperts, Rebecca Rosenblat is the real deal.

Flowers are one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to add just a little bit of beauty and romance into our lives. Whether you're buying them for yourself or someone else, I'm of the school of thought that we should all send and receive more flowers in general.

We live in a world that is obsessed with binary terms -- especially when it comes to dating and our love lives. To get a reading on what dating trends are hot for this summer (and what is most definitely not) I've consulted with Canadian Master Matchmaker Krystal Walter.

There is no bigger disappointment than meeting a sexy and charming man, only to discover when you go home with him that his apartment looks like the set of the movie Half Baked. So, whether you're looking for love or maybe just hoping to have more casual sex this spring, here are a few tips to make your abode more sexy and appealing.

You dated someone. You broke up. At some point you started sleeping with them again, but you never "got back together." You knew this wasn't a great idea, but you did it anyways. Sound familiar?

Although I hope sex ed class has changed a lot since I was a teen in the mid-90s, I'm not holding my breath. From learning how to be comfortable in my own skin to dealing with those messy things called "feelings," here are a few things I really wish someone had told me about casual sex.

It's no secret that I love How I Met Your Mother -- in fact, rarely a day has gone by over the past nine years when I haven't quoted or referred to the show in conversation. There's just so much about life, love and friendship that HIMYM just gets. So, before we say goodbye, here are a few of my favourite lessons about life and love from Ted, Robin, Lily, Marshall, Barney and the gang.

In my 20s, I feel like I just let life happen to me. I said "yes" to so many things that I felt like I was Alice, tumbling down the rabbit hole towards whatever new self-created chaos awaited me. Eventually I learned that being alone felt so much better than having to deal with the fallout of my bad choices.
