There are a lot of myths surrounding the world of injury and rehabilitation and I want to set the record straight so you can get focused on getting better.
After being involved in mainstream fitness for many years, owners Taylor and Whitney Simon decided there needed to be a change and created Taylored Training Fitness. Mainstream box style gyms just weren't working; members were getting an impersonal experience, classes weren't effective and personal training was only accessible to an elite few. All those people in magazines, at competitions, and filling instagram with their awesome workout pics are the small percentage of the population who are intrinsically motivated. Who are able to suffer and sacrifice based on some internal psychology. What's important to note is that the majority of the world is not like this, maybe YOU are not like this AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT!

There is large percentage of women who perform Kegels incorrectly, many of whom actually increase the pressure pushing down on the pelvic floor when they are attempting to do a Kegel leading to the exact opposite desired outcome -- a weakened, less functional pelvic floor.

The reason I want to talk about this today is because believe it or not our behaviours surrounding toileting can oftentimes lead to pelvic floor dysfunctions, including urinary and/or fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, not to mention decreased muscular strength, endurance and coordination of the pelvic floor muscles.

For some reason everyone thinks that it is OK for anyone to go running in an effort to improve their health. This is simply not an appropriate recommendation. Running is not the BEST form of exercise. It is simply a form of exercise and one that requires preliminary strength and mobility prior to starting.

You should feel tired by the end. You should be breathing hard and a sit down rest should seem like the best idea ever. You shouldn't have enough energy left to add another 15 minutes of exercise. Your clothes should need to be washed because they smell like a gym locker.
