Life in rehab is very structured, planned and directed by the treatment team. Although this is a necessary step towards recovery, it is only the beginning of a life journey that simply has to be very different from the life lived during active addiction.

Wendy Cope is a Psychological Associate who has been registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario since 1996. She completed her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Western Ontario in 1980.
With the recent media focus on addiction issues, one of the most common questions emerging is: What is rehab really like? Having worked in the field of addiction and residential treatment facilities for 34 years, I have had the privilege of working with many individuals battling addiction.
