Kind Words to Me From a Stranger

In the past 20 months, my journey has been filled with meeting a variety of people. The majority are thoughtful, kind and compassionate. This is a letter that I found in my inbox that "fills the bucket." I believe that words and writers like this deserve to be shared.

In the past 20 months, my journey has been filled with meeting a variety of people. The majority are thoughtful, kind and compassionate. Others lack empathy, emotion and warmth so subsequently, I won't include their words here.

This is a letter that I found in my inbox that "fills the bucket." I believe that words and writers like this deserve to be shared.

Dear Ms. Todd,

You do not know me and I do not personally know you. However, I have read about the cyber bullying that first your daughter and now you have been victim of.

I couldn't believe the things I read that were sent to you. I am so sorry. No one, absolutely no one, deserves that. You are doing amazing work out in the world, work that will have amazing results when others wake up and understand the changes that need to be made.

The internet is rife with those who want to send out hateful messages and have nothing but maliciousness to share. Then there are those who have no such intentions, and they are out there, but they do not share their thoughts and words as often as the others. We hear about these incidents and the horrible things that people do to other people and all we do is shake our heads and sigh.

Well, I don't want to do just that. I want to share with you the pride that so many feel for you, and the empathy in the great loss you have suffered and never should have.

I am sorry that this has happened to you, and that you have to go through all this. It's not fair and it is not right. But we are proud of you, and so thankful that the world has been blessed with one who is willing to fight for what is right, even through adversity. Amanda did not deserve to die, and neither do you. She has such an incredible and strong mother, one who continues to do absolutely everything for her daughter. You have a beautiful soul Ms. Todd. That I can easily see.

Those compelled to send those cruel and harmful messages are scared, because they are the cyber bullies and insecure individuals whose actions are being threatened by the consequences that your good work will bring around. Don't listen to them.

Please know that we, the quieter ones, are standing right beside you. Thank you for everything that you have done for us and for others. All that I have said is not just for you but for all those out there who have suffered the same as you and work to change the world; while being attacked by users of social media who abuse their internet resources.

Thank you for everything Ms. Todd. Thank you for being strong and inspirational for us. Amanda, no doubt, is very proud of you.

Sincerely,

One Who Cares
