Chrissy and her family shared her story in the video above by Inside Edition.

"You hear about breast cancer all the time and you always see women. But to know your daughter, your eight-year-old daughter has breast cancer, never would have thought it in a million years," her mother, Annette, tells Inside Edition.

Both her parents have had their own battles with other forms of cancer as well. Her mother is a cervical cancer survivor and her father was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, according to CBS.

Chrissy was diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer called Secretory Breast Carcinoma, and would require the drastic treatment, CBS12 reports.

When she first felt a lump on her chest, she was scared to tell her parents, and just hoped it would disappear. When she finally asked her parents about it, they brought her to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, where doctors confirmed the diagnosis.

Her family created a Facebook page, "Chrissy's Alliance" to document her illness, and now her recovery. After her successful surgery, she's picked up where she's left off and headed back to school.

They've received an overwhelming amount of support through the page, as well as their GoFundMe page which has raised more than $85,000 to help pay Chrissy's medical bills.

Chrissy's school Valentine's party was so much fun! She's such a little ray of light! ♡♡♡
