Colin Jost Calls The 'Kook Squad,' Taking A Cue From Trump's Recent Speech

The “Weekend Update” segment on “Saturday Night Live” presented a wild mashup of a speech by President Donald Trump last Wednesday in Florida where he urged people to “let law enforcement know when you see a kook.”

The camera returned to host Colin Jost on the phone, supposedly talking to the “kook squad.” (Mashup starts at 2:56 in the video.)

Jost noted at the start of his mockcast that the public has now found out, via a New York Times story, that Trump “may not be the financial genius that no one ever really thought he was.” The Times reported that from 1985 to 1994, Trump lost over $1 billion on business deals, according to tax records.

The “Fox & Friends” show on Fox News tried to spin the business failures into something positive, with host Ainsley Earhardt insisting: “If anything, you read [the Times story] and you’re like, wow, it’s pretty impressive all the things he’s done in his life.”

“C’mon, blonde lady,” Jost said. “Even you don’t even believe that.”
