We often get caught in our own heads thinking about hypothetical scenarios and all of the possible outcomes in different situations.
Today, I'm revealing three ways that you can be confident in any situation even if you consider yourself to be shy.
The first strategy is to remember to breathe.
The moment you take pause to breathe is the moment you allow yourself to take a break from racing thoughts and calm down. This eases you into the present moment.
Breathing allows you to be right here, right now without the need to meet any unwanted or undesirable expectations.
Have you ever said things like "What if he rejects me?" "I'm such an idiot." "I always get overlooked."
Strategy number two is to become aware of your self-talk. It's easy to think about all of the negative outcomes in any given situation, especially when you're meeting people for the first time.
But what if you flipped that on its head and identified the positive outcomes that could happen?
I used to lay on the couch all the time thinking that I wasn't good enough and deserving of friends, yet alone a boyfriend or a partner. Then I became aware of my self-talk and changed the words I told myself. It took me years to work on this but now I've become a more confident person in social situations (hint, it all starts with your attitude).
Strategy number 3 is to physically move your body.
