Sen. Jeff Sessions (R) was re-elected to the U.S. Senate on Tuesday after running unopposed in Alabama.

Sessions also ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 3.

Sessions was only the second Republican to win an election for the U.S. Senate in Alabama when he ran in 1996, according to AL.com.
