President Donald Trump dubiously claims he did Joe Biden a favor by calling him a “low IQ individual” over the weekend.
Trump earned scorn from an array of Americans ― including some Republicans ― for the barb he directed while in Japan at the former vice president who recently launched a White House bid. After Trump was accused of siding with the enemy, he took to Twitter to claim that he actually toned down the words of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il and, in the process, was being kind to Biden:
I was actually sticking up for Sleepy Joe Biden while on foreign soil. Kim Jong Un called him a “low IQ idiot,” and many other things, whereas I related the quote of Chairman Kim as a much softer “low IQ individual.” Who could possibly be upset with that?

Many Twitter users expressed skepticism the president was sticking up for Biden ― mainly because he wasn’t.
You’re so full of shit, I’m surprised @Charmin hasn’t offered you stock...

I’ll take “things that never happened” for $500, Alex.

Just going to go out on a limb and guess that the leader of North Korea did not just happen to call one of your political opponents by the exact phrase you use to ridicule people. That probably did not happen. Just a guess.

This is totally and utterly absurd and a prime example of gaslighting. Trump praised Kim Jong Un for calling Joe Biden a “low IQ individual” and he expects the American people to think it makes any difference Trump changed the word “idiot” to “individual”?

Dear Diary,

7th grade is so HARD! The kids said I was being mean just because I told them what I heard but I was really being nice because I used a nicer "I" word. Why are they so mad at ME?
It’s remarkable how often I see an insane tweet, check to confirm it’s actually from the President of the United States, discover it is in fact a tweet from the President of the United States, and just die a bit inside. Making the highest office in the land look like a joke.
