The President Of Finland's Dog, Lennu, Is Melting Hearts Across The Globe

He's fast becoming the first pup of Twitter.

There’s a dog in New York City taking over Instagram, and now a pup in Finland is stealing hearts on Twitter.

This is Lennu, the dog of Finland’s President Sauli Niinistö:

He is a Boston terrier and the proud first pup of Finland, local media reports. Lennu has been making headlines in the Northern European nation for some time. He’s even sat for interviews.

But Lennu reached international fame this week after Daily Best reporter Kelly Weill posted photos of him on Twitter. Her tweet had racked up more than 100,000 likes and 38,000 shares.

Weill’s post prompted others on Twitter to share photos of the first dog. Many wonder about important questions, like why Lennu does not have an official account of his own.

Jezebel and Mashable wrote about Lennu, and folks in Finland woke up to news of the first pup’s internet fame.

Check out some more photos of Lennu below. Here’s hoping the terrier makes a stateside appearance soon.
