J.Crew's Fall 2012 Ad Campaign Features Real People Instead Of Models

J.Crew's New Ad Campaign Features Real People Instead Of Models

While some were speculating Katie Holmes was in the running to be the face of J.Crew's next ad campaign, news from the company's headquarters tells a much better -- and more fun -- tale: Instead of featuring models, J.Crew is using accomplished and fashion-forward individuals to showcase their duds.

Female faces to look out for include Alice Lane, a makeup artist, and Angela Goding, assistant director of Museum Development. Other ladies showing off the company's fashions include Caroline Issa, fashion director at Tank Magazine; Linda Rodin, creator, RODIN olio lusso; Virginie Mouzat, deputy editor, Le Figaro; and Julia Sarr-Jamois, fashion editor, Wonderland Magazine.

On the guy's side, Carlos Huber, architect and creator of Arquiste perfumes, and David Karp, Founder and CEO, Tumblr.com, have been tapped to model menswear. Other males involved in the campaign, include Matthew Moneypenny, president and CEO, Trunk Archive; Joe Carlucci, contemporary art business director; and Spencer Lyons, field advocacy director, American Cancer Society.
