One of the hottest designers to emerge from Toronto Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012 was Lucian Matis. His moody, broody collection captivated onlookers (even the daring beauty looks -- feather tips on nails! -- stood out among the rest).
At once beautiful and also edgy, the fashions he showcased were an hommage to the symmetry of nature: the balance of a butterfly's wings when compared to jagged rock formations.
Today, we got a sneak peek at the designer's lookbook for fall.
Of the images, the designer told us: "This campaign was my first collaboration with photographer Greg Swales and the entire shoot came together effortlessly. The location we selected is a couple of hours outside of Toronto and it belongs to a long time friend of mine. I always wanted to use this site and this felt like the perfect campaign for it -- dark and mysterious, not to mention haunted. This incredible cottage situated on it's own island was built in the early 1900 and it has never been renovated since. Some parts of it are dilapidated and I just simply loved the way nature has integrated into mankind's structures."
Take a look at the collection below, as well as some runway shots from Matis' show in March. Ladies, prepare to swoon.
