As Felix Baumgartner hurtled towards Earth during his stunning skydive, observers took to Twitter to express their amazement.
The daredevil known as 'Fearless Felix' began his ascent in a space capsule Sunday afternoon, reaching an altitude of over 38 km, CTV reported. He jumped from the capsule, and his free-fall hit an approximate speed of 1,173 km/h.
Baumgartner appeared to break the records for the highest free-fall jump, and highest manned balloon flight. Organizers say Baumgartner broke the speed of sound.
Some Twitter users were blown away by his bravery, as he leapt from the capsule, eventually deploying his parachute and landing safely. Others joked about Red Bull's sponsorship, and many tossed around the #YOLO hashtag.
