Abbotsford police have issued a public warning about Jeffrey Allan Goddard who has a history of sex offences against teens and luring them via social media.

Goddard, 23, has been convicted before of sex offences, impersonating a peace officer and breaching probation conditions. He targets children between 12 and 16 years old, said police on Thursday.

This is not the first time police have issued a warning about Goddard. In February 2012, they felt it necessary to inform the public that Goddard was released from jail after serving a sentence for invitation to sexual touching and computer luring.

Those convictions saw him pose online as a police officer, teenage girl and TV producer.

Goddard is known to use the phone, email, chat rooms, Facebook and other social media to lure teens, said Abbotsford police.

Goddard is five feet, nine inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has short brown hair, green eyes and sometimes wears glasses.

The court-ordered conditions Goddard must follow include not contacting anyone under 16, not using any electronic device that can access the Internet and and not having any social networking accounts.
