Pat Martin Calls Conservatives 'Dirty, Rotten Bastards'

Tories Are 'Dirty, Rotten Bastards'

Pat Martin is at it again.

And, to nobody’s surprise, he used colourful language to express his frustration.

"They are absolutely carpet bombing my riding with them, they’re just blanketing my riding with these things," Martin told iPolitics. "Dirty, rotten bastards."

The allegations come hot on the heals of a report from Elections Canada calling for more powers to combat robocalls and electoral fraud ahead of the next federal election.

Regardless of the context, the outburst is nothing new for the controversial politico.

Martin deleted his Twitter account in December after a tirade in which he called certain members of the Conservative Party "rat faced whores" and took a few jabs at Public Safety Minister Vic Toews' personal life. The outburst was apparently related to his exclusion from an event in his own riding. Martin later apologized.

About a year ago, Martin called a Laval economist a "pompous dickhead" on Twitter after a debate about globalization got a little heated.

And in perhaps his biggest outburst, Martin tweeted a thunderous F-bomb after Conservatives voted to end debate on a budget-related bill in November of 2011.

"This is a f—cking disgrace.. closure again! And on the Budget! There’s not a democracy in the world that would tolerate this jackboot s—"

Martin's shoot-from-the-hip style has gotten him in legal trouble in the past. He apologized last year for accusing Racknine Inc., a company associated with the Conservative Party of Canada, of being behind the robocalls scandal. He settled a $5 million defamation suit last month.

But curse words and lawsuits aren’t all that Martin’s about.

Last month, the NDP firebrand rose in the House to ask Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird about Canada’s preparedness for a potential zombie apocalypse. Seriously.

"Under the leadership of this prime minister, Canada will never become a safe haven for zombies, ever," Baird said.
