It seems the hefty prices hasn't scared Toronto fans from purchasing Rolling Stones tickets this morning: the band has already added a second T.O. show.
After the May 25 Air Canada Centre show went on sale at 10 a.m. Eastern, the group announced via Twitter 30 minutes later there'd be an additional date for Toronto's Air Canada Centre on June 6 with tickets available through the band's site and Ticketmaster. As previously reported, prices for the Toronto shows are similar to those in U.S. markets. However, the band is also ensuring fans get tickets through special package deals.
According to Ticketmaster, a Silver Hot Seat Package goes for $750 while a Gold Hot Seat Package will set you back $1,200. Those eager for a closer seat can purchase a Tongue Pit Package on the floor near the stage for $1,500 while a Hospitality Package goes for $2,000. The bright side? Well, the service charges on each package is included and only cost $2.75.
The seating prices are at four levels, with the lower two tiers set at $166.50 and $266.50 while the top two are $466.50 and $624.50. As of 11:45 a.m. this morning ticket reseller StubHub had some 1,450 tickets available for sale for the May 25 show ranging from $210 in the upper bowl to "Tongue Pit" tickets starting at $2,500 in some instances.
As well, fans expecting to perhaps catch the band for a pittance at a Toronto club — which they've done for previous treks like A Bigger Bang and Licks — will be out of luck this upcoming tour. In an interview with the Toronto Star Mick Jagger said Toronto will not get such a gig.
"It just worked out slightly different, as things go," Jagger told the publication. "You can't always do things the same way, for different reasons. So we're starting in L.A. this time. People are very welcoming and friendly and we have great memories. We're very fond of Toronto and look very much forward to coming there. It was always great. And at least we're still coming to Toronto."
Jagger also said the band will try to "get a really good set list for Toronto" while saying he'd be "happy" to look at any fan requests regarding song selections.
Thus far Toronto and Chicago are the only markets where a second show has been confirmed.
