One man has been arrested after a Calgary couple awoke to find a prowler in their bedroom in the middle of the night.

Kristopher James Aubrey is charged with break and enter with intent, after two residents of a Calgary northwest home were awoken to an unknown man entering their bedroom early Wednesday morning.

Police were called just after 12:30 a.m. to the home in the 1300 block of 15 Street N.W., which Aubrey allegedly entered by breaking a window in the home.

The residents chased the man out of the house and it is unknown if anything was stolen.

Police sent out a description of the man on Wednesday and asked anyone with information to come forward.

Officers responded to reports later on Wednesday of a man fitting the description, at which point Aubrey was interviewed and subsequently charged.

Calgary police warned Calgarians to take the necessary precautions to prevent break-ins and car prowlings, particularly with the summer, long weekend and vacation season ahead.
