The reaction from Edmontonians when Prime Minister Stephen Harper tweeted out that he was in their fair city over the weekend was overwhelmingly one of confusion.

Harper was in Edmonton watching his son Ben participate in a volleyball tournament over the weekend and then joined the team for a bite to eat at the south Edmonton Boston Pizza, The Edmonton Sun reported.

Although some Edmontonians were less than happy to have the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada in their midst, others, such as Brian Gore, tweeted out an offer to buy Harper a beer.

The Alberta capital hosted the 2013 Canadian open Volleyball Championships over the weekend.
