Two Vancouver firefighters have been reprimanded after they sent tampons to another station in what's being called a sexist prank.
The firefighters sent the package to the Port Coquitlam Fire Department shortly after some women had been hired there, News1130 reported.
The package, which also contained sexually suggestive material and a card with comments about female firefighters, was meant for a male member but it was intercepted, CTV News reported.
Port Coquitlam fire chief Nick Delmonica notified the Vancouver Fire Department about the package and the members responsible were given full reprimands. They also wrote apologies to both fire departments, but neither was suspended from work.
The incident will be noted in the firefighters' files and officials hope it won't have any further negative effects, Global News reported.
