MLA Mike Allen is a relative newcomer to provincial politics.
But just over one year after he was elected to represent Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo as a Tory, he's quit the Progressive Conservative caucus. His resignation comes after allegedly being caught in the middle of a prostitution sting in Minnesota.
Allen was elected on April 23, 2012, during last year's provincial elections and landslide win by the Conservatives.

Allen worked his way up the Fort McMurray political ranks, from businessman to Chamber of Commerce board member, to municipal politician and, eventually, landing a seat at the legislature.
