Ever had sticker shock at the gas pump? You're not alone. According to a report by GasBuddy.com, a site that compares gas prices across the continent, B.C. is home to the 10 most expensive municipalities for buying gas.
The list, compiled using data compiled on August 8, puts Delta, B.C. in the top spot at 143.6 a litre. Surrey and Pitt Meadows were not far behind at 143.5 and 143.3 cents a litre respectively.
The top 10 list (based on August 8 numbers):

6. Burnaby - 142.12
7. Vancouver - 142.06
8. New Westminster - 142
9. Richmond - 141.6
10. Coquitlam - 141.1
"I would have been surprised if B.C. wasn't at the top of the list," GasBuddy co-founder Jason Toews told Global News.
B.C. drivers have to contend with some of the highest gas taxes in Canada and local taxes in the Greater Vancouver area add to the pain at the pump.
Prices may have been slightly inflated this year because of the temporary closure of an oil refinery in Alberta, The Province reported.
Jordan Bateman, B.C. director for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, said that Lower Mainland gas taxes add another 49 cents per litre to your bill.
The Taxpayer's Federation also pointed out back in May that B.C's high gas prices might be driving some drivers to the U.S. for cheaper gas.
"Canadians made 15.4 million trips south just into Whatcom County last year - the most since 1997," Bateman said in a press release. "The first quarter this year saw a 10 per cent jump from that - the number keeps growing, and it's cheaper gas taxes that is the gateway to getting us hooked on going south."
To add insult to injury, a report released by GPS maker TomTom says that Vancouver, B.C. has the second-worst congestion in North America.
