No Apologies
Patrick Chan took silver in men's figure skating. It took a world record from Japan's Yuzuru Hanyu to beat him. Chan apologized after his medal, but he didn't need to. He's a champion in our hearts. (ANTONIN THUILLIER/AFP/Getty Images)
So Close

Never Quit
Bobsleders Kaillie Humphries and Heather Moyse don't know the meaning of the word quit, coming from behind to beat the USA for a bobsledding medal. Moyse and Humphries defended their Olympic gold from Vancouver. (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)
A Perfect Games
This is what Olympic joy looks like. Jennifer Jones, one of Canada's most decorated curlers had never made it to the Olympics. She took gold in Sochi. (JUNG YEON-JE/AFP/Getty Images)

Don't Forget The Boys
Ontario's Brad Jacobs and his team were almost as good. Their gold medal match against Team Great Britain was a frighteningly dominating performance. (LEON NEAL/AFP/Getty Images)
The Comeback of Comebacks
And this is what a comeback looks like. Down 2-0 with less than five minutes to go, the Canadian women's hockey team showed us why you can never count them out. The tying goal came with less than a minute left in regulation.
A goal in overtime sealed the deal.

Sorry, Team USA
And it wasn't for a medal, but we have to mention the boys. After a scare against Latvia, they proved they can play with the best. Beating the USA 1-0 and giving them a spot in the gold medal game. (JULIO CORTEZ/AFP/Getty Images)
