It's been a wicked winter in central Canada, with temperatures dipping as low as -50 C in parts of Ontario.
Nowhere is the cold more apparent than the Great Lakes, which have essentially been turned into a vast frozen wasteland, if photos from NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administraiton are anything to go by.
