Vancouver Canuck Is Kissing A Bear, Not Killing One This Time

Vancouver Canuck player David Booth got a special kiss — and it wasn't from his lady Ashley Durham.

Booth tweeted a photo on Monday of him smooching a grizzly bear, saying, "This love is difficult but it's real. Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess. It's a love story."

Booth met with Abbotsford animal trainer Mark Dumas on Sunday and got friendly with the bear, The Vancouver Sun reports.

"It was one of the coolest things I've ever done," he told the newspaper. "Being licked right in the face by a grizzly bear is something that I never thought would be possible."

Aside from kissing bears, Booth is also known for killing them. The avid hunter often poses for photos with his prey and posts them on his Twitter account. Booth came under fire in 2012 for taking part in bear-baiting in Alberta, which is illegal in B.C.
