Paul Simon Arrested After Domestic Dispute (REPORT)

Paul Simon has been arrested after a domestic dispute in his hometown.

NBC Connecticut is reporting the 72-year-old singer-songwriter was arrested and charged with domestic violence in his hometown of New Canaan, Connecticut.

Simon, who has won a dozen Grammys as both a solo artist and with Simon and Garfunkel, has been married to musician Edie Brickell since 1992. They have three children.

Local New Canaan newspaper the NC Advertiser reports that Brickell was also arrested in the "domestic dispute" incident that occurred around Saturday night, April 26.

UPDATED:

At an 11:30am press conference today, police expanded on the incident. Someone in the house shared by Simon and Brickell called 911 and hung up, sparking a police investigation. Both were arrested and charged with "disorderly conduct related to domestic violence."

Police said there were no major injuries and that Simon subsequently left to stay their Manhattan home.
