Seniors Bring The Drama To B.C. Condo

Seniors Bring The DRAMA To B.C. Condo Dispute

The details of a legal fight in British Columbia have revealed bizarre and sensational claims that rival a "Real Housewives" episode.

Three civil lawsuits have been filed from The Carlisle condo complex in Abbotsford over the last four years, according to The Province.

The drama began when an older man and his younger wife moved into the 55+ condo community, said The National Post.

According to court documents, the strata council which manages The Carlisle tried to evict the couple, alleging they egged cars, sprayed oil on car windshields, left an explicit note about an alleged affair between two seniors, and opened and closed garage doors in the middle of the night to disturb condo dwellers.

In return, the wife of the pair claims she was assaulted in a scuffle with a strata council member, and was the target of a flare gun. She also alleges someone tampered with her scooter, said The Province.

According to the Post, a judge said of the parties involved: "One would expect to find emotional children who have not yet learned the basic tenets of acting civilly towards each other, not senior citizens."

This is just the latest absurd condo dispute to hit the news. Earlier this month, a judge ordered a B.C. couple to vacate their condo after a long and expensive legal fight over assigned parking in their complex.

Last year, a Surrey woman and her son were ordered to sell their condo after years of harassment, noise complaints, and unpaid fines.
