Lorde's Parents Now Engaged After Trip To Niagara Falls

Lorde Shares Heartwarming News

Lorde has finally seen a diamond in the flesh thanks to a special moment at Niagara Falls.

After a performance in Toronto on Sunday, the New Zealand native travelled to the renowned Ontario tourist attraction with her parents, Vic O’Connor and Sonja Yelich.

It was there where her dad popped the question to her mom, and judging by singer’s emoji-packed tweet on Monday, she was overjoyed:

And yes, she was also the first to point out the obvious.

The news caps off an award-winning weekend for the 17 year old: she won International Video of the Year for “Royals” at the MMVAs and performed a show-stealing rendition of “Tennis Court” and “Team” with a floor lamp.

And the good times won't likely stop any time soon for the young superstar.

Lorde will embark on a two-and-a-half month U.S. an Canadian tour starting Aug. 1 at Lollapalooza in Chicago.
