A woman thought she was meeting a dog trainer in a Toronto park -- only to have her five-month-old puppy stolen.
Police are hoping the public can give them a hand in the dog-napping investigation, which took place earlier this month at Sunnybrook Park, near Bayview Ave. and Blythwood Rd.
The June 5 encounter lasted only a few minutes, investigators say -- a short conversation between the woman and the purported dog trainer. Then the man took the dog from the woman and departed in a navy-blue pick-up truck which was parked nearby.
The suspect is described as brown-skinned, six feet tall, between 25 and 30 years old, with short dark hair and possible acne scars. He was wearing dark clothing.
And the purloined puppy?
A five-month old, male, black Cane Corso with a white chest patch.
