The folks over at Ben & Jerry’s, who love a good TV and pop culture tie-up, have launched two new ice cream flavors to help US variety show "Saturday Night Live" fete its 40th anniversary.
Inspired by two popular SNL sketches, the Vermont-based ice cream maker has launched Lazy Sunday and Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch, the first of four flavours that will be released this year.
Lazy Sunday is described as a vanilla cake batter ice cream base with chocolate and yellow cupcake pieces and chocolate frosting swirl, to satisfy Andy Samberg and Chris Parnell’s love of Magnolia cupcakes.
Gilly’s Catastrophic Crunch is a combination of chocolate and sweet cream ice cream with caramel clusters, fudge-covered almonds and marshmallow swirl.
Ben & Jerry's has also created ice cream flavours for funnymen Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon and Ron Burgundy.
The SNL-inspired ice creams will be sold in the US and Canada.
