York Regional Police Post Odd Video On How To Peel A Banana

To Serve And To... Peel?!

Cops have a difficult job enforcing laws and keeping the peace. Sometimes they have to use humour to let off a little steam.

That, we assume, is the reason why the York Regional Police tweeted a bizarre video Monday that showed an alternative method for peeling a banana.

The video came up after spokesperson Const. Andy Pattenden noticed an officer unraveling the delicious fruit in precisely this manner, The National Post reported.

"You see, us police officers are highly trained investigators and even the little things catch our attention," he told the newspaper.

Pattenden added that the tweet came as part of "#openmindedmonday," a hashtag the force appears to have created itself. It's an occasion for officers to try and take a different look at "things that we might do every day."

It's only the latest in a series of light-hearted posts the York Regional Police have posted to their social media stream.

This, for example, was posted to warn people about engaging in duels.

The force also has a Tumblr account, where police inform people about the dangers of things like magic mushrooms and sizzurp.
