All the Shemar Moore fans out there, hold onto your hats.
For the first time in nearly a decade, CBS daytime veteran and “Criminal Minds” star Shemar Moore will return to television’s number-one daytime drama "The Young And The Restless" for a special two-day guest appearance, Wednesday, Sept. 10 and Thursday, Sept. 11.
Moore, who appeared as a series regular for 11 years (1994–2002 and 2004–2005), will reprise his role as the charismatic Malcolm Winters, a portrayal that earned him a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2000. During his two-day return, Moore will reunite with longtime friend and co-star Kristoff St. John, who portrays his on-screen brother, Neil Winters. In the episodes, Malcolm returns to Genoa City after leaving town years before without a proper goodbye. Now, he’s back for an important visit with the Winters family to make amends and catch up on everything he’s missed.
“I'm excited about returning to 'Y&R' as a special guest,” said Moore. “This is where I got my start, and I'm looking forward to reuniting with my soap opera family.”
"The Young And The Restless" has been the top-rated daytime drama for 25 years. Recently, the show won its eighth Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series. Taking home nine Daytime Emmys, "Y&R" celebrated its best awards season in the show’s 41-year history.
