Love Poems: 10 Sayings You're Probably Too Embarrassed To Share Publicly
10 Cheesy Poems You Are Secretly In Love With
The Huffington Post Canada
Roses are red, violets are blue, we love these dorky poems, and we bet you do too.
You know the ones we're talking about: you roll your eyes if these poems are listed on a wedding program, but you're in tears when someone reads them. Nobody would ever argue that these poems aren't ubiquitous, perhaps overused and definitely a bit cliché.
But they've endured for a reason — these 10 love poems can tug at your heart strings, as much as you hate to admit it.

1 Corinthians 13
Love is patient, love is kind…you might be able to recite this poem from memory. That’s because you’ve heard it at 90 per cent of the weddings you've attended.
I Carry Your Heart With Me
This might be an unexpected inclusion, considering the modern style of cummings’ poetry, but this poem went mainstream during the release of In Her Shoes (both movie and book). It’s also lovely, and one of many beautiful love poems cummings had wrote.
How Do I Love Thee?
Spoiler alert: there are a lot of ways to love someone. But then you find out that Barrett Browning eloped with her husband at a time when that was not really the thing to do, and it’s all a bit more romantic.

I Do Not Love You Except Because I Love You
Taken on the surface this poem reads a bit like an unhealthy relationship, but maybe it’s really a look at the reality of love — like how angry you get when someone leaves their socks on the floor.
There is something inherently corny about comparing your committed adult relationship to cleaning up dog poop, but there is a funny bit of truth in it too. (If falling in love was like owning a cat, nobody would ever get married.)Read the full poem here.

Benediction of the Apaches
This one does not come from the Apaches at all, but rather originated from the 1947 novel Blood Brother, whose author invented a wedding ritual that was not actually used by the Apaches themselves. But hey, the sentiment is nice.
