Blood Orange's Dev Hynes was allegedly assaulted by security after performing during the first day of Lollapalooza 2014 in Chicago.
The British singer took to Twitter yesterday to claim that he and his girlfriend were "jumped" by three security guards after his afternoon performance at the massive three-day music festival. "Everyone saw it," he tweeted, adding that he was planning to press charges and seeking witnesses to corroborate his account of what happened.
Earlier in the day Hynes had tweeted a photo of himself wearing a shirt emblazoned with the names of black shooting fatalities Eric Garner, Jordan Davis and Trayvon Martin and had staged a silent protest during his Blood Orange set. Garner's recent death by New York police had been deemed a homicide earlier that day, while Davis and Martin were both killed by civilians in Florida who claimed they felt threatened and were later acquitted.
"Samantha & I made this T-shirt which I'm wearing today," Hynes tweeted. "The set is dedicated to these names & more. We remember."
