It looks like Alison Redford will be back in legislature before we know it.
The former premier and MLA has reportedly chosen an artist to paint her official portrait, which will eventually hang alongside the 13 portraits of premiers before her.
Despite her ongoing involvement in a series of spending scandals the led to her resignation as both premier in March and MLA last week, Speaker Gene Zwozdesky told the Edmonton Journal it's a tradition that has been extended to every past premier.
“It’s a part of our heritage, it’s a part of our tradition and it’s very important to demonstrate it and show it to people who come to visit,” Zwozdesky told the Calgary Sun.
The portrait will eventually hang on the third floor of the legislature, where it will be seen by school groups and others who take the legislature tour.

Portraits Of Past Alberta Premiers
The premiers are allowed to choose between sitting for a portrait or having one painted from a photo.
Don Getty was the last premier to sit for a portrait, while Ralph Klein allowed artist Xin Yu Zheng creative liberties while painting his portrait — resulting in a dream-catcher over his head and mountain backdrop.

Jokes aside, Derek Fildebrandt of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation told Yahoo! News Redford deserves the honour.
"Alison Redford may have disgraced her office and few are sorry to see her go, but the Legislature of Alberta is bigger than any one person."
