A Saskatoon mom with terminal cancer uttered the word "wow" right before she married the love of her life on Wednesday in a ceremony funded by strangers.

“I couldn’t be happier. This is a dream come true,” Megan Wolfe told Global News.

The 28-year-old bride exchanged vows with Josh Melynk, 32, before a small gathering of family and friends, including the couple’s five kids, at Edmonton’s Union Bank Inn. It was a dream ceremony made possible from a crowdfunding campaign launched by her cousin, Shantell Scragg.

Earlier, Scragg told HuffPost Canada it was her cousin’s dream “to get married one day.” So the family worked together to make Wolfe’s dream come true.

Someone donated a beautiful white wedding dress, embroidered with silver and pink flowers. Pink bridesmaid dresses were also collected from strangers.

Local businesses around Edmonton also pulled through, offering a free venue, hair and makeup services, a wedding photographer, and also dessert for the special day.

“It brings tears to my eyes. It is way more than I expected,” Wolfe told the Edmonton Journal, referring to the outpouring of generosity she and her family have received from strangers.

The mother of five was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer four years ago. Doctors told Wolfe she has two years left to live, according to CBC News.

The happy event came at the heels of a challenging year: the couple lost nearly everything in a flood that damaged their Saskatoon home, and Wolfe’s father was killed in an accident.

Union Bank Inn general manager Shelley Carrier told CTV News she was overwhelmed by the show of love from the couple's families and Edmontonians.

"What touched me particular, is that she wanted this as a gift for her family, so they would remember her as celebrating life," she said.

Any donations received after the wedding will go toward Wolfe's medical expenses as she seeks homeopathy treatment in Edmonton.
