Justin Trudeau Break-In: 'Person Of Interest' Video Released

Video Possibly Related To Trudeau Break-In Released

Ottawa Police have released video possibly related to a weekend break-in at the house of federal Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau.

The 38-second video shows an unidentified suspect appearing to be talking on a phone outside a home in Ottawa's Rockcliffe Park neighbourhood, where the family rents.

Trudeau's wife Sophie and the couple's three young children were home sleeping during a break-in on Saturday. The Liberal leader was in Winnipeg at the time.

The discovery of a threatening note left atop a pile of knives collected from inside the house left the family "shaken" and prompted Trudeau to ask RCMP for a risk assessment.

Since the incident, HuffPost Canada learned Trudeau was granted RCMP security at an Edmonton rally and Mounties are now patrolling the family's home.

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with tips is asked to call Ottawa police's Break and Enter Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 4533 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477(TIPS) or toll-free at 1-800-222-8477.
