RCMP are investigating after a young girl's body was found in a car near Sundre.

According to police, her body was found in a vehicle on a rural road near the small Alberta town Tuesday afternoon.

No information about the girl's age or identity have been released, but police say they have taken one woman into custody in connection with the case.

An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon to determine the cause of death.
