Calgary bus driver Massimo Denegri was driving along Sarcee Trail when he heard meowing from under his seat.
Curious, he pulled over at 69th Street Station and searched around, only to hear the sounds of a cat trapped inside the bus, CTV News reported.
Unable to find the feline himself, he called for help, and officials with Calgary Transit and Animal and Bylaw Services arrived to assist him.
It turned out that the cat was trapped inside the wheel well beneath his seat.
A video posted to YouTube shows two men pulling the meowing cat out of the well and placing it in a cage.
CTV News said it's possible the cat climbed in through an opening beneath the vehicle's bumper.
The driver is considering adopting the animal, according to a video description.
