Everyone’s dream boyfriend is now a married man.
A representative for Joseph Gordon-Levitt confirmed to People Magazine the actor quietly married girlfriend Tasha McCauley on Dec. 20. The couple reportedly exchanged vows in a private ceremony at their home.
News of the 33-year-old actor’s secret nuptials echoed throughout the Twittersphere on New Year’s Eve, unleashing a torrent of sad tweets from lovelorn fans.
Not much is known about the McCauley other than she’s a co-founder of L.A.-based tech company Fellow Robots. The couple have kept a low profile since news of their romance surfaced nearly a year and a half ago.
According to an interview with radio host Howard Stern in 2013, the former “3rd Rock from the Sun” actor wants to respect McCauley’s preference for privacy and explained she “doesn't want to be a part of it.” It, of course, being the navel-gazing micro world of Hollywood celebrity.
“I get up in movies and I play other people, so when the audience is watching me in movies, I don't want them thinking about me and who I'm dating, and blah blah blah," he said to Stern at the time.
He emphasized the clear line he draws between his private life and showbiz career.
"I want them to see the character, the story that I'm telling.”
