Alberta RCMP are on the hunt for a suspect after two officers were shot early Saturday morning in the St. Albert area, northwest of Edmonton.
A manhunt is happening southeast of the Sturgeon Valley Golf Course for a man considered armed and dangerous who is between 25 and 35 years old. He is wearing a "two-toned blue jacket and jeans," according to the Alberta RCMP's Twitter account.
At a press conference Saturday, Assistant Commissioner Marlin Degrand said the two officers were shot inside the Apex Casino, according to Global News, and that one of them was in 'very grave' condition.
Police are asking the public to not approach the suspect and call 911 with any information.
The officers will not be named at this time, police said in the release,
Prime Minister Stephen Harper tweeted Saturday, saying "Canada's thoughts & prayers" are with Alberta RCMP officers as they deal with the situation.
NDP Leader Tom Mulcair also tweeted, saying he was "very concerned" with the news coming out of Alberta.
